Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this OptiMate 5 Select 8-step AC to DC 6 volt, 12 volt Smart Battery Charger and Maintainer. Now, this is a nice compact smart charger, it'll draw power from your AC wall outlet to automatically charge and maintain the batteries on your cars, trucks, motorcycles, RV, golf carts, and even ATPs. This will work with both 6 volt and 12 volt standard AGM, gel, SLI, and deep cycle lead-acid batteries. Does give you multiple battery profiles, and let you charge a variety of lead-acid battery types at different voltages, and this one does use an 8-step charging algorithm that automatically charges and maintains without overcharging. Basically, it'll analyze the battery condition to provide a customized charge for that battery. more

Hi there truck trailer and RV owners! Today, we're going to be taking a look at Optimates line of smart battery chargers for non-lithium, 12 volt systems. So here we have our four options for 12 volt system battery chargers. They do come in various amperage outputs, and as we go up in amperage, we do get a little bit extra testing with it's charge strategy. So while it's charging them, it'll actually test the batteries to adjust its strategy along the way to ensure that it's charging your batteries optimally, to get them up to a hundred percent and also ensure it's not charging them too fast, where it could potentially degrade the life cycle of the battery. And as we go up higher, you're going to have a little bit better protection with each. Down here on the bottom this one's mostly just a maintainer with an output of 0.8 amps, so it's mainly a maintainer. more

What this is gonna be good for, is if you leave your vehicle, say you leave your lights on or something like that, and you have a low battery and you wanna get it charged back up, you can hook this up there, leave it up in your garage, and it will slowly charge it back up. Another thing you can use it for is, if you have a lawnmower that sits in the winter, in the garage all winter, you wanna hook these up there to it, it'll maintain that battery. When you compare this type of charger to other chargers, this one is going to be a smart charger, because it can be used with solar panels, it can be used with different types of alternators, your standard alternators, your variable voltage alternators in your smart alternators. With your standard charger when hooking it up to the battery to charge it, one some of them are kind of bulky and they're going to take a little while to charge the battery, with this one you can use this, the charge it again, not only off your solar panel, but off your vehicle while you're pulling the trailer. So it's great to be used with a dump trailer like we have it on here today, or even like a camper.Maybe you like to go out boondocking and you have.. You're just using battery power you may not have your connection to electric. more

We'll get a DC to DC charger, a 110-volt charger, a solar charger, a dual battery isolator, a load disconnect controller and a remote battery monitor. And that's going to allow us to get our batteries charged up, make sure that they're monitored or that we can monitor them while we're out on the road and that way we'll never have to lose power for our house batteries. It has a charging algorithm to prioritize using solar power when possible so that it can be as energy efficient and environmentally friendly as can be. Today we're going to take a look at the Bright Way 12 Volt 5-Amp-Hour Switch Mode Charger and Tester.Now this is a nice built-in trickle charger that'll accept 110, 120 volt input. This part includes everything shown here, the charger itself, the AC receptacle plate, it'll mount right here, and the mounting hardware comes with that, and a nice set of instructions on how it installs and how it operates. Basically, this receptacle is designed to install on the wall of your trailer. The box would be on the inside with the AC plug right here sticking through to the outside, and then the plate with the cover would be installed like that on the outside using the included hardware. This will allow you to connect when you open this up, it'll have the male connector here that will allow you to connect AC 110 to 120 volt AC power to this to supply power to this charger tester.Now this is a switch mode charger that's designed to charge most 12 volt batteries. So you can see it does come with 24 inch long battery cable leads with the 3/8 inch diameter eyelets on it to connect to your battery. more

Now this is for charging auto, marine, RV, power sport 12 volt LED acid batteries for the following type. It'll charge the SLI type, SLA, VRLA, VAGM and the gel type batteries. The size batteries that it can charge is 12 volts, 28 amp hour, up to 250 amp hour batteries. And of course the bigger the battery the longer it'll take to charge it. It does maintain batteries once they are fully charged and it'll even recondition batteries that may have a sulfate build up in them, but not any sharded 00:00:35 cells.This is a smart charger. more

The Smart Battery Isolator, or SBI, allows your auxiliary battery to charge from the alternator while the vehicle is running, and protect the start battery from discharging when the engine is off. It can also be used in conjunction with an in-vehicle battery charger, or BCDC, to allow the start battery to be jump-started from the auxiliary battery in the event that the start battery is discharged or fails.This product works best with standard alternators, not with smart or variable alternatives.
